Leeds United are set to land Wigan striker Joe Gelhardt this week.

Marcelo Bielsa has been sniffing around looking for bargain deals as he aims to improve United's squad after winning the Championship this year.

Gelhardt has impressed clubs across the country while Wigan's relegation and financial situation could be detrimental to many members of their squad.

But it is Leeds that have won the race for the 18-year-old with Bielsa got one eye on the future, says the Daily Star.

Wigan will receive a fee of around £900,000 for the striker, who made 19 appearances this season - scoring one goal.
