Leeds rejected chance to sign Man Utd playmaker van de Beek

Leeds United had the opportunity to secure Donny van de Beek from Manchester United on loan.

The Elland Road club signed Dan James from their rivals in the summer, but turned down the chance to sign van de Beek for the rest of this season.

According to Yorkshire Post, with the source stating that Leeds were also offered Tottenham's Harry Winks.

Leeds turned down those January deals, as manager Marcelo Bielsa only wants quality that can improve his team for the long-term.

Van de Beek instead signed for Everton, where he will be hoping to impress recently installed manager Frank Lampard.
