Leeds ready to sign permanently Lorient goalkeeper Illan Meslier

Leeds United are ready to sign permanently Lorient goalkeeper Illan Meslier.

The Mirror says Leeds will sign Meslier permanently for £6million at the end of the season if they win promotion to the Premier League.

Meslier, 20, has impressed during his loan spell at Elland Road from French Ligue 2 side Lorient and Marcelo Bielsa believes he is one of the best young goalkeepers in Europe.

The Frenchman has kept two clean sheets deputising for the suspended Kiko Casilla and Leeds will active his £6million buy-out clause if they go up from the Championship.

The France Under-20 international also stood out on his Leeds debut in their FA Cup defeat to Arsenal in January.

Leeds fans have taken to Meslier and have urged the club to sign him permanently.
