Leeds United want to sign permanently Stoke City midfielder Michael Tonge.

The midfielder's current stint at Elland Road runs out later this month, says the Daily Star Sunday.

Tonge, 29, is out of favour at Stoke and will be a free-agent in the summer, so Leeds are unwilling to pay over the top.

But the Potters hope his decent form might create a market for his services.
