Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips is being watched by Southampton.
The Daily Echo says the midfielder will only be available if Leeds fail to gain promotion back to the Premier League – and Saints would be expected to pay £20m. The 23 year-old was born in Leeds and made his hometown club four years ago, but has thrived under the management of Marcelo Bielsa this season.
Affectionately known by Leeds fans as the 'Yorkshire Pirlo',he was named in Sky Sports' Championship team of the season.
Leeds currently sit in second place in the Championship.
