Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips remains a target for Aston Villa

Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips remains a target for Aston Villa.

The 23-year-old has been the subject of two offers from the Premier League side and is said to desperate to move, says the Mirror.

But Leeds are digging in their heels and are refusing to do business as they plot their own route back to the top flight.

However, the Leeds-born ace could make a serious jump in his wages if he is to move to Villa Park.

They want to give him £60,000-a-week, more than what anyone else, including Leeds, are prepared to pay.

His boss Marcelo Bielsa is desperate to keep hold of the academy product and put up a fierce defence when asked about the chances of Phillips leaving.

Bielsa said: “Players with Kalvin's talent are difficult to find, and I don't want to lose him.

"He is a big player for us, and a model professional on and off the pitch.

"Of course I cannot decide his future, but if he is still here and in our match day squad of 18 at Bristol on Sunday then so far as I am concerned he will not be going anywhere."
