Leeds midfielder Adams convinced by Rutter potential

Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams insists record signing Georginio Rutter can succeed at the club.

The Frenchman, who has been at the club since his January arrival, has only come off the bench in the Premier League so far.

However, Adams is impressed by the 20-year-old, who did get two FA Cup starts.

Adams told BBC West Yorkshire Sport Daily: "Against Accrington Stanley I could tell right away that he had the qualities to succeed at this club. I had the opportunity to play against him in the Bundesliga a couple of times and I was always wondering, who is this kid? Where is he from?

"Now we're here together at Leeds. I see in training the qualities that he brings to this team. He's comfortable under pressure, he can play with both feet, he's not afraid to go at you and that's the type of attacker that you want.

"You want the guys that are always going to keep defenders on their heels and keep them guessing. It's unfortunate because you score a goal and your confidence levels go through the roof.

"Again, he can be happy with his performance from last night. He's going to be an important player for us moving forward, the more and more chances he gets. He's going to be a really important player for us."
