Leeds legend Lorimer urges Snodgrass to ignore Norwich, Stoke offers

Leeds United legend Peter Lorimer has urged Robert Snodgrass to stay.

Norwich City have had a £3.5million bid turned down, while Newcastle United and Stoke City are also circling.

But Lorimer has pleaded with Snodgrass to stay at Leeds - and achieve his dream of top-flight football with Simon Grayson's side.

He told the Scottish Sun: "Robert is a nice lad. It was a big step for him to come down from Livingston to Leeds.

"He was happy to do that and he has done a great job.

"On form, he is definitely our best player - although I'm obviously biased. He is a smashing player.

"We also have Ross McCormack, who had a few injuries last season.

"But he got in at the back end and then Craig Levein brought him into the Scotland squad.

"That should set him up nicely for next season because he was probably needing that boost for his confidence.

"There are a number of Premier League teams looking at Robert but you'd expect that. We want to keep him."
