Leeds get serious about Burnley keeper Tom Heaton

Leeds United are getting serious about tempting Tom Heaton away from Burnley.

The Mirror says Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa is stepping up his bid to land Heaton after being plunged into a goalkeeper crisis.

Bielsa was planning a loan swoop for out-of-favour Burnley shot stopper Heaton when the January transfer window opens following the loss Jamal Blackman to a horror injury.

Blackman, hired on a temporary deal from Chelsea, faces being sidelined for the rest of the season after breaking his leg in an under-23's game against Birmingham a week ago.

But Bielsa will now try to sign Heaton, 32, on an emergency loan after Bailey Peacock-Farrell suffered a knee injury in training.
