Leeds United have expressed interest in Penarol striker Agustin Alvarez.
La Repubblica says the Penarol man is being chased by Leeds, Fiorentina, and Zenit St Petersburg, with the latter said to have had a £12.7 million bid rejected.
Leeds could make their move for Alvarez as earlier as January, with the 20-year-old having been in fine form this season, scoring 23 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions.
The Whites may be in the market for a new striker after the turn of the new year, with Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo Moreno currently nursing injury issues.
