Leeds chief Salerno quietly confident of signing Sassuolo striker Leonardo Pavoletti

Leeds United football chief Nicola Salerno admits they're keen to sign Sassuolo striker Leonardo Pavoletti.

Salerno is this week in Italy for talks over the experienced centre-forward.

He told TMW: "I've liked this player for years, since the time of Lanciano and he has been considered by Leeds already in the past. I get along well with him and the President (Massimo Cellino) and I have a good relationship with Sassuolo.

"We could close a deal without any problems.

"It depends on the guy, because I do not know what he wants to do."
