Leeds chief Orta ready to hand Raphinha pay-hike

Leeds United will not consider selling Raphinha this month.

The Mirror says Leeds have ruled out selling Raphinha in January and plan to hold a second round of contract talks with the Brazil winger.

Leeds' director of football Victor Orta held two meetings with Raphinha's agent Deco before Christmas and he was the club's guest at the Arsenal game at Elland Road on December 18.

Leeds were encouraged by the positive tone of those conversations and Orta wants to sit down again with Deco.

Leeds want to reward Raphinha for his success and are relaxed about the negotiations because the Samba star is under contract at Elland Road until 2025.

They are not interested in selling Raphinha, who cost a bargain £17million from Rennes in October 2020, this month, despite his rising transfer value, and feel his long-term future remains with them.
