Leeds captain Cooper outlines differences between Marsch and Bielsa

Leeds United captain Liam Cooper has spoken about the differences between Jesse Marsch and Marcelo Bielsa.

The Scotland international is closing in on a return to full fitness for the Elland Road club.

While he has not played yet in the Premier League this term, he is raring to go, and has insight into the way that American coach Marsch works differently than Bielsa.

He told the club's official podcast: Cooper said: "Yeah we do [have a say in tactics], obviously Jacko [Mike Jackson] to start with is doing a lot with the set-plays. We have a little set-play group which we've improved massively on, both as a threat and defensively, I think we've improved a lot.

"That all seems to be going well right now. We've all got individual training plans and we've been doing a lot with Cameron Toshack, he's been brilliant. Frankie and Euan the analysts, the way they put their sessions across and Jesse loves a video session. We've had plenty of them.

"I wish I was as fast as that laser he puts on the screen! No he's a lot different. Marcelo was a lot different in the way he always portrayed it to the group on a whole. There's a lot more individual stuff now and I think Jesse can see everybody is different.

"Some boys might need an arm round them, but me myself, I can be told in a bit more of an abrupt way if you want to put it that way what I need to be doing and how I need to be doing it. It's all individualised stuff but the tactical stuff, what we need to be doing as a team, that's all done over in the meeting room.

"We've got a brand spanking media room that's been done. We've just seen that for the first time today and I'm sure Jesse is buzzing with that, so there'll be a few more hours of video going in as well."
