Leeds boss Sam Allardyce: West Ham clash a Cup final

Leeds boss Sam Allardyce admits their clash with West Ham today is a "Cup final".

Leeds are two points behind 17th-placed Everton and have a game in hand.

"We have to deliver a three-point scenario to try to save our Premier League status," Allardyce said.

"[We need to] fight to the end, but fight with the right temperament and have the right amount of control - and certainly don't lose the game plan.

"Confidence has grown, application has been applied. Possession could get better.

"We've been so up for it and so frantic to try and do well, close the opposition down and make life difficult, that when we've actually won the ball back we've still been so hyper that we haven't been able to calm down.

"The difference between those two is something we've talked about - being calmer when we're on the ball.

"Whatever the situation is, we have to deal with it, we have to accept it and we have to make it spur us on to the best performance we can give."
