Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa explained hooking Ezgjan Alioski in defeat to Brighton.
The defender was substituted at halftime.
Bielsa was asked why he took the number 10 off for Ian Poveda during the interval and he focused more on the gains down the wing than the failings of Alioski.
“I wanted to position natural winger on the right-hand side because in the first half we were able to get to that sector easily," he said.
“And I thought [Stuart] Dallas playing from a deeper position could create a little bit more."
