Leeds United have been dealt an early transfer blow as they prepare for life in the Premier League.
The newly promoted club had hoped to make a splashy signing to announce their return to the big time.
They were linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain and Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani.
But the move may be in doubt, as Uruguayan journalist Sebas Giovanelli indicates Cavani and his half-brother/agent Walter Guglielmone had positive talks with Benfica, via The Sun.
Now it appears Cavani may be set for a move to the Portuguese Premiera Liga instead.
The 33-year-old would have a chance to play in the Champions League with Benfica, and compete for titles.
The lure of European football may be greater than having the chance to play in the Premier League with Leeds.
