Lee Congerton has returned to the Premier League as Leicester City head of recruitment.
Celtic announced on Saturday morning that Congerton, 45, had left the club - and just half an hour later Leicester confirmed his appointment.
Congerton had previously worked with Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers in the Chelsea youth set-up and had widely been expected to make the move south to the King Power Stadium.
The Celtic statement read: "Lee Congerton is resigning from his post as the club's Head of Recruitment to take up new opportunities.
"The existing staff within Celtic's scouting and recruitment department will continue to work closely with club management on the identification of players who can benefit the club.
"The club has already commenced the process to appoint a new head of recruitment, something which will be completed as soon as possible."
