LEAGUE TWO PREDICTIONS: Who will rise in the Football League pyramid?

There are three automatic promotion places up for grabs in League Two, with one additional play-off winner also moving up to League One.

Northampton Town, who are sitting pretty on top, are odds-on favourites to win the league on the back of their incredible run of 10 consecutive wins.

The Cobblers have tallied 73 points, 12 ahead of Plymouth Argyle in 2nd and 18 from Accrington Stanley in 4th, meaning they are destined for at least promotion if they somehow fail to keep hold of first spot.

Stanley also have a chance of sneaking into the top three as they crucially have two games in hand over Oxford United who are only three points ahead in 3rd position.

The 2nd and 3rd place likely will go to Plymouth and Oxford as both teams have talented squads and who have remained largely in and around the promotion places through the season.

The final promotion spot via the play-offs will go to Portsmouth.

Despite their inconsistencies this season, they have lost just six games in the league, just one more than tearaway leaders Northampton.

Manager Paul Cook will be expecting to cement Pompey's play-off place despite dropping to eighth in the wake of Tuesday's 1-0 defeat at Barnet.

With their huge following in League Two, the Portsmouth fans will play a pivotal role with their support until the end of the season. Portsmouth have conceded just 28 goals, far less than all of their rivals from third down to seventh.

Their resilience combined with their strong backing at Wembley will see them through.

Prediction

Premiers: Northampton Town

Runners-Up: Plymouth Argyle

3rd: Oxford United

Play-off winner

Portsmouth
