League One, League Two fear Championship breakaway

EFL clubs are fearful of being left behind by the Premier League and Championship.

Both League One and League Two cancelled their seasons due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Premier League and Championship are likely to resume in the coming weeks.

And the Daily Mail says that some clubs in Leagues One and Two fear the Championship could break away from them and adjust the structure of English football.

They are worried the Championship could morph into a Premier League 2.

The FA and Premier League would have to both approve such a split.

But the idea is to protect clubs in the Championship, and tying them to the Premier League is a way to do it.
