French Football Federation president Noel Le Graet has congratulated Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema for his season.

Benzema enjoyed an outstanding campaign as Real won the LaLiga title.

Le Graet has often traded insults with Benzema as he was frozen out of the France squad by coach Didier Deschamps.

However, the FFF supremo stated last night: "He's had an exceptional season with Real (Madrid), I have already congratulated (Zinedine) Zidane who is his coach.

"Today, over the season he has just completed, he is one of the best players. The best? It's not for me to judge because I haven't seen all the games.

"But in my opinion, he had the best season of his career."
