Lazo coach Maurizio Sarri was delighted with victory over Fiorentina.

Pedro scored the winner in Lazio's 1-0 win over Fiorentina at the Stadio Olimpico.

“I think we played the best game of the season, even better than those against Inter and Roma," Sarri told DAZN.

“We were solid defensively. One of the plans that we had prepared was to move Milinkovic-Savic forward to create a four vs. four, we did it well and we scored.

“We lacked a bit of courage at the beginning, but the goal helped us get over it. We had three technical players in midfield. Luis Alberto was very much determined. Milinkovic-Savic did really well."

Sarri hailed the performance of Danilo Cataldi, adding: "Danilo is a very dynamic midfielder, but he can become technically extraordinary.

"Lucas is much better defensively. Danilo is more aggressive. Naturally, Leiva struggles a little to play many games consecutively and right now, Cataldi is vital for us. He's already an important player for us, he can become an important player for Italian football."
