Lazio striker Miroslav Klose admits he didn't realise how important the Rome derby was.

The Biancocelesti beat their city-rivals AS Roma 3-2 earlier in the season.

"The Rome derby cannot be compared to those in Germany," he told Lazio Style Channel. "Only here have I learned what the true meaning of a derby is.

"It is something fantastic - the emotions that we were feeling the weeks before and after were amazing.

"To see the faces of the fans smiling was something really special. That's why we play football, to make people happy."
