Lazio president Lotito insists no regrets not selling Milinkovic-Savic

Lazio president Claudio Lotito stands by his decision not to sell Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

Lotito has claimed he's rejected a €160m offer for the Serbia midfielder in the past.

“I smile when people say that I spend little on new signings," he told Tempo.

“I'm the absolute majority shareholder, but Lazio being a listed company means I must also safeguard the interests of small investors.

“Then this urban legend that I'm stingy is discredited by the facts. Lazio spends a lot of money every year.

“The balance sheet data proves it. We capitalise and strengthen, while thinking about the future.

“I don't regret not selling Milinkovic. Financially it would've been a great deal, but I'd made a promise to my Coach.

“Football isn't just business: I also didn't so as to not cause distress for the fans."
