Lazio president Claudio Lotito admits they're trying to build an Italian dominated squad.
Lazio are on track for Champions League qualification this season under coach Maurizio Sarri.
Lotito told Radiosei, "It is difficult to acquire results, regardless of economic possibilities. It is true that these contribute to increasing the level of the squad, but football is a team game. You have to create that alchemy, a kind of electric current in order to cement a relationship and bring players with strong motivations onto the field.
"We have lost points with weaker teams, we need to create and find the right motivations, which make the difference. An environment 'all for one and one for all'. And everyone must work in unison.
"Many Italians in the squad? We are trying to set up a team dedicated to 'Made in Italy'. We claim Italy's role at an international level, a pity about the skipped World Cup. Organisation is fundamental, sometimes bad apples alter the balance.
"We are inserting players of moral value and character, to avoid discrepancies."
