Newcastle United's preparations for the new season could be dealt a massive blow regarding Jamaal Lascelles.

According to One Football, the club are bracing themselves for a big money move from Lazio for captain Lascelles.

Lascelles is under contract at St. James' Park until 2024 and has been with the Magpies since arriving from Nottingham Forest in 2014.

Lazio could add Jordan Lukaku to the deal in order to lower their asking price and give Newcastle incentive to part ways with their captain.

Newcastle appeared to have landed Lukaku in a January loan move, but the 24-year-old failed his medical and returned to Rome.
