Lazio are edging closer to landing Manchester City midfielder David Silva.

Lazio are now in advanced talks to sign the veteran playmaker, who has announced he will leave City at the end of their Champions League campaign.

Italian transfer expert Nicola Schira has reported that Silva is close to signing a three-year contract with a salary of €3m - plus bonuses.

Lazio president Claudio Lotito is hopeful that the contract will be signed in the coming days.

Silva, 34, joined City ten years ago from Valencia.
