Lazio midfielder Vecino proud of brace in Euro victory over Feyenoord

Lazio midfielder Matias Vecino was delighted with his brace after their 4-2 Europa League win against Feyenoord.

Vecino struck twice on the night for Lazio, which had one stage were 4-0 ahead.

He later said, "We were very keen to do well after the defeat that hurt us against Napoli. The important thing was to start strong with a good victory that gives us confidence for what is about to come. We play every three days and you have to give your contribution to the team.

"It is normal, in my experience, to help in certain games. But we have many experienced players who play for national teams and who have played in the European cups. We have to go on working like this, we are a good team.

"My inclusion in the group is going well even though I arrived late, it took time to adapt physically as well. I knew that at the beginning I would need to find the right strength but I am getting better and better and this is the important thing.

"Sarri? We worked together eight years ago but he's still the same. Will the Lazio fans forgive me for that goal I scored for Inter denying them the Champions League qualification? I don't know, they will tell me. But with the performances I will be able to earn their respect."
