Lazio midfielder Lucas Leiva says they belong in the Champions League.

Lazio secured a return to the European elite thanks to an impressive Serie A campaign.

“The important thing is that we are united," Lucas told Sky Sport Italia. “Experience counts a lot, but other players in the squad have a lot of experience in Europe or in Serie A, despite not having played in the Champions League."

He added: “During the lockdown, it didn't go so well with my knee. But now I'm in the final part of my rehabilitation. From next week, if all goes well, I can re-join the group."
