Lazio midfielder Lucas Leiva admits they failed to meet their standards for defeat to Champions League opponents Bayern Munich.

Lazio were thumped 4-1 in the first-leg of their round 16 tie.

“We're disappointed, because we know that we are better than this," Lucas told Mediaset.

The deadlock was broken after just nine minutes when Mateo Musacchio's awful back-pass gifted Robert Lewandowski the opener.

“It's not Musacchio's fault. He made an individual error, but we all lost by playing badly and we all go forward together."
