Lazio defender Francesco Acerbi has revealed he rejected the chance to join Leicester City.
The offers came in January 2017, but the now 32-year-old decided instead to stay loyal to his former club Sassuolo.
He said: "I could have gone to England, to Ranieri's Leicester, or to Zenit with [Roberto] Mancini.
"I wasn't sure. I had the chance to go to Leicester in January, but I'm a very grateful person.
"At that time I didn't want to go away from Dr Squinzi [Sassuolo owner], who he had been very close to me in times of difficulty. I always said no [to offers] because of Sassuolo's help."
