Lazio coach Sarri on Lecce draw: These fans deserve Champions League

Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri was left frustrated after their 2-2 draw with Lecce.

The result on Friday has Lazio sitting in third place.

Sarri said: "Today, I saw negative moments, for example you can't concede the first goal 20 seconds from the end of the first half from a throw-in. You cannot enter the field overwhelmed by that episode. But then I also saw positive aspects, such as the final reaction.

"I had the impression that a draw in the 85th minute was enough to win. I have seen different signs. (Ciro) Immobile and (Sergej) Milinkovic have launched different answers, they are improving. A point taken like this could also be serious stuff.

“I don't know what to tell you about the episodes, they were way off.

"I've never seen a team in the Premier League that allowed themselves to do what Lecce did today, despite the scarcity of English referees.

“What I said, that there have been encouraging and positive signs. One for example is the growth of conditions of Milinkovic and Immobile. Negativity is the one thing we don't need. We play a good thing, we need a positive attitude. And in the finale the boys thought it was a missed opportunity.

"This audience deserves the Champions League, we hope to give it to them. They are helping us, the stadium is beautiful. It's nice to identify yourself in a shirt. An agent told me about a possibility abroad, but I said right now I don't care, but never say never."
