Lazio coach Inzaghi upbeat after Sevilla setback

Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi says they remain alive in the Europa League after defeat to Sevilla.

The Europa League Round of 32 first leg clash was decided by an early Yassim Ben Yedder tap-in at the Olimpico.

"We conceded an avoidable goal, we knew the danger of their counter-attacks and they did cause us problems on three or four occasions," Inzaghi told Sky Sport Italia.

“We had some situations in attack that we should've taken better, but we were well-organised and did not deserve to lose. I was forced into three substitutions due to injuries, so my choices were limited.

Marco Parolo's ankle turned over after just give minutes and it's very swollen now, so we can rule him out of Sunday's Serie A game. Luis Alberto felt a muscular problem and we'll have to see.

“We weren't surprised by Sevilla, as we knew they'd play at a slow tempo and then go on the counter. A draw would've been the fair result, but we must accept the defeat.

“Now we'll give it our best in Seville and it's not a positive result, but we can still qualify. Hopefully, we'll have a few more men available by then."
