Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi was delighted with the attitude of his players for their 1-1 draw at Champions League opponents Club Brugge.
Lazio were forced to leave 12 first teamers at home for the game.
“I asked for character, the lads brought out everything they had within them amid a thousand difficulties," Inzaghi told Sky Sport Italia.
“We were unlucky at the end too, as we could've done better with a couple of late scoring opportunities.
“The penalty was a distraction. Aside from that, when we should've paid more attention, it was tough because the last two days have been surreal and Brugge were fresh from a win away to Zenit St Petersburg.
“Without doubt, this result can make a big difference to the group. What mattered the most tonight was the performance, and the lads did something remarkable amid a thousand difficulties."
