Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi was left frustrated after their 2-1 defeat to Genoa.

Lazio had the lead through Milan Badelj, but a lucky ricochet off Antonio Sanabria and Domenico Criscito's low drive earned Genoa the points.

“We are missing many players at the moment, but I said before it should not be an alibi and we won't use it now," Inzaghi told Sky Sport Italia.

“Lazio still put in a strong performance and did not deserve to lose, but this is football and it is unforgiving. We should've been more determined after taking the lead, but Ionut Radu played very well in the Genoa goal and I think he got his fingertips to it when Badelj hit the crossbar too.

“Genoa didn't create much, but Criscito's effort hit the upright and ricocheted in. We are here talking about a defeat, despite a strong performance. We were in control and ran so few risks until the final 15 minutes, so we deserved more, but this proves if you don't kill games off, anything can happen."
