Lazio coach Inzaghi floored by Saponara's 99th minute Sampdoria equaliser

Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi was left floored after their 2-2 draw with Sampdoria.

Riccardo Saponara's acrobatic flick sealed a 99th minute equaliser for Samp at the Stadio Olimpico.

“There is a bitter taste in the mouth, as the statistics clearly show we dominated the match," Inzaghi told DAZN.

“At times we weren't particularly sharp, but the performance was strong. We should've just kept the ball in the final 90 seconds and it was a serious error to give it away.

“I've never seen anything like it in 25 years of football, so this is a really strange sport. Sampdoria are strong and well-organised, but we deserved to win."

Lazio spent the last five days in a training retreat to better prepare for this game after recent setbacks.

“This result holds us back, because we'll get nowhere with draws. They used to say we never played draws, now we've had four in a row.

“Conceding a goal like that is a serious error, but we have some experienced players and others not so much. It's time now to recuperate energy and I want a good performance in the Europa League on Thursday."
