Lazio are eyeing released Arsenal defender Sokratis.

Sokratis terminated his contract with Arsenal this week by mutual consent.

Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi confirmed their interest after last night's Coppa Italia triumph over Parma.

"We need to strengthen our defensive options," said Inzaghi. “Sokratis Papastathopoulos? He's one of the players we check."

The veteran boasts past Serie A experience with Genoa.
