Lazio chief Igli Tare is coy about securing Simone Inzaghi to a new deal.
The Lazio coach's current contract is due to expire at the end of next month.
Tare said, "In the last hours I read about a meeting in private but it never happened.
"We have understood for quite some time that at the end of the season, after the match against Sassuolo, we will sit down together: I think I will close this topic. If positively? The renewal has not yet arrived because we know what we have said to each other and what we think of each other.
"We had the opportunity to fight for the Champions League until the defeat against Fiorentina, which was decisive for this goal. However, qualification in the Europa League is also important to give continuity to what we started: playing in Europe is fundamental for the club."
