Lazio chief Igli Tare cannot guarantee Stefan de Vrij staying beyond the end of this season.

Off contract in June, De Vrij has fielded Bosman contact from Liverpool, Manchester United and Barcelona since the New Year.

Tare had sounded bullish about the Dutch defender penning new terms last week, but last night he wasn't so sure.

He told Mediaset: "There will be a press release soon, to say whether he stays or if he leaves, and I hope he will stay.

"It has become an endless story, I hope we will soon find a way out."
