Lazio boss Inzaghi delighted with character shown for victory at Brescia

Lazio boss Simone Inzaghi says they can be happy with their 2-1 win over Brescia.

Mario Balotelli had Brescia ahead before Ciro Immobile netted twice - with a penalty converted in injury-time.

“The team believed to the end," Inzaghi told Sky Sport Italia.

“We knew it would be difficult today, Brescia had prepared well and even gave up vacation time over the break to work in a training retreat in Rome.

“It's true we could've done better in the second half, moved the ball quicker and made more of the fact we were against 10 men, but Brescia fought hard.

“We should analyse the goal that we conceded, because it was avoidable, and work to improve our defects. We struggled more than usual, but still kept believing."

This was Lazio's ninth consecutive Serie A victory, equalling the record set by Inzaghi's old boss Sven Goran Eriksson in 1998-99.

“We have a very good rapport and it is enormously pleasing to reach this record. We had discussed it with the players in the dressing room beforehand."
