Burnley boss Brian Laws says last night's atmosphere for Owen Coyle's return to Turf Moor was "breathtaking".
Wade Elliott's controversial goal earned victory over the man their supporters call 'Judas'.
Coyle quit the Clarets for Bolton in January. And Burnley manager Laws said: "This place and this crowd are notorious for making life difficult for opponents and they did that tonight.
"Maybe the supporters had something they wanted to get off their chests. It was breathtaking, the support was unbelievable."
