Lasarte slams Barcelona for making Suarez, Vidal 'their culprits

Former Real Sociedad coach Martin Lasarte has slammed Barcelona for their treatment of Luis Suarez and Arturo Vidal.

Suarez left for Atletico Madrid, while Vidal was snapped up by Inter Milan.

Lasarte said, "I am one of those who thinks that Barcelona was very unfair. The match ended 8-2 against Bayern Munich and they all had to go ... eight, and in the end three came out: (Ivan) Rakitic, who was going to leave last year, so those who were burned at the stake were Luis Suárez and Arturo Vidal.

"The culprits 'in quotes' ended up being Suárez and Vidal when they were not. For those who have a good memory, if it was because of the game, even (Lionel) Messi had to go. There was a list of eight players, I saw it in the Spanish programs, and in the end (Nelson) Semedo left who I don't count, Rakitic who was already leaving, and Vidal and Suárez, who were not responsible.

"The one who played the best was Vidal, the goal was made by Suarez ...

“That's why the Barça DNA is what we no longer see. The Catalans are complicated. Barça DNA died when (Andres) Iniesta and Xavi left. They used to make Barcelona play like that and it is not eternal. They want to copy, but it will never be the same."
