Former Real Sociedad coach Martin Lasarte feels Antoine Griezmann should seriously consider leaving Barcelona this summer.

The Frenchman has endured a difficult first season at the Nou Camp and was linked with Manchester United and Tottenham in England's weekend press.

Lasarte, who gave Griezmann his senior debut at La Real, told El Desmarque: "Griezmann is in question because Barcelona is in question. You have to look for a scapegoat, as we say here. You have to look for someone responsible.

"He is the last one to arrive, they paid a lot of money for him. It seems to me that they have loaded a very heavy backpack on him.

"All the people of Royal Sociedad will understand me: I see Griezmann sad. And those of us who know Griezmann know that a great part of his way of playing is in his joy, in his positive way of transmitting things. I see him sad, I see him off, he is not at ease.

"He will have to wait a little longer to adapt or, suddenly, it will also be a time to change colours, why not, and look for an option that is neither better nor worse, just different so to develop everything you know how to do."
