Sebastian Larsson has declared he wants to sign a new contract with Birmingham City.
Negotiations over a five-year deal had to be shelved when Blues were deemed to be in a takeover period.
But now the Sweden midfielder says: "Yes, I hope we would be able to sort something out now.
"We were discussing a contract. We weren't there, but we weren't too far away from it either. When the new regime were coming in, it had to be put on ice.
"That's where we stand. I'm sure they know the situation.
"I'm just waiting to see. It's up to them as to what they want to do. I don't know if they want to keep me or whatever."
