Manchester City centre-back Aymeric Laprote hailed his side's special win over Tottenham in the Carabao Cup final.

City have now won four successive league cups, dating back to 2018.

Laporte rose highest from a free kick in the last 10 minutes of the game to get the winning goal for his side against a defensively resolute Spurs.

"We are so happy to win this title again," Laporte said after the game, via the club's website.

"This is very special for us because we lost in the FA Cup, it's good for us to get confidence.

"We have done so, so good in the last few months and we have to keep this rhythm to win more titles."

He added: "It was difficult because (Spurs) are a good team, it is never easy to play a good team who fight towards the top of the league.

"We did very well and we are very happy to win today and to win this trophy.

"I am very happy to have the support of these beautiful fans."
