Former Barcelona coach Carles Rexach has played down the prospect of Joan Laporta bringing PSG star Neymar back to the club.

Rexach is acting as adviser to Laporta, who has declared his candidacy for the Barca presidency.

Asked about a move for Neymar, Rexach told Cadena Cope: "By analysing the current situation, I think it is impossible for him to return to Barcelona, it is impossible.

“I think he realised the importance of Barcelona. When he scored a goal at Barça, it went around the world four times.

"Now in Paris, it goes unnoticed."
