Langerak to get Borussia Dortmund opportunity

Mitch Langerak is set to make a rare start for Borussia Dortmund in the German Bundesliga this weekend.

The 25-year old Australian goalkeeper is almost certain to deputise for Roman Weidenfeller after the BVB number one sustained a groin injury in the DFB-Pokal (German Cup) semi-final over Wolfsburg in midweek.

Dortmund boss Juergen Klopp suggested that Langerak would be given a chance to impress in the league meeting with FSV Mainz at Signal Iduna Park on Saturday.

"It looks like Weidenfeller won't be able to play, which means Langerak will likely play," Klopp told reporters on Thursday.

Langerak, who has been capped by the Socceroos on three occasions, has previously played nine times in Germany's top flight for eight wins and one draw while he has six wins from six cup outings and a win and a loss in his two Champions League appearances.
