Frank Lampard has told his Derby County players that he is leaving for Chelsea.
The Mirror says initial talks between the Rams and the Premier League giants are said to have been held, but the Sky Bet Championship are yet to receive a formal offer for their boss.
The Pride Park club want £4m in compensation for Lampard, who is set to be offered a three-year deal by Roman Abramovich.
Lampard has told his players he will leave for Chelsea if the right offer comes in.
The former Blues midfielder is the favourite to take over in the Stamford Bridge hotseat from Maurizio Sarri, who left to join Juventus at the weekend.
