RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano has emerged as a priority target for Chelsea boss Frank Lampard.
The Mirror says Lampard is plotting an overhaul of his Chelsea defence this summer - with Upamecano having emerged as his No.1 target.
The Blues have kept just seven clean sheets in 39 games in all competitions this term.
Lampard has chopped and changed his defence throughout the season, as well as alternating between a back four and three centre-halves.
And Lampard was startled with how his side was ripped apart by Bayern Munich on Tuesday evening.
Now he is ready to make changes throughout - having already agreed a deal to bring in Ajax playmaker Hakim Ziyech - but is notably looking to strengthen at the back.
Reece James is seen as the future at right-back, Antonio Rudiger is the undoubted first choice and Cesar Azpilicueta remains a leader in the dressing room and a key figure.
