Lampard hopes to keep Man City place for Roma clash

Manchester City midfielder Frank Lampard hopes to be part of their Champions League decider against AS Roma.

Having been given an unexpected chance by Sergio Aguero's hat-trick against Bayern Munich, Lampard says City must not blow it now.

"I'd love to be involved. If it is my last Champions League game it would be perfect to go out with a win," he said.

"I keep in contact with Ash (Ashley Cole) - I saw him at the home game [with Roma]. I keep texting and talking and stuff. I know he is enjoying his experience out there.

"The atmosphere will be amazing. I went to Rome recently for a short break and football is their life, their passion. The city is football mad.

"They are in the same position as us, it is in their hands to an extent as well. I know you can't discount Moscow winning in Munich. But it's a huge game. I am just happy that we are in with a fighting chance and it is up to us."
