Lampard, Cech to convince Hudson-Odoi about new Chelsea deal

Callum Hudson-Odoi is ready to sign a new deal with Chelsea.

The Daily Mail says Frank Lampard's likely appointment as Chelsea manager alongside Petr Cech as sporting director will boost the club's chances of 18-year-old England star Hudson-Odoi signing a long-term contract at Stamford Bridge.

With Chelsea poised to approach Derby to recruit Lampard as their new manager, along with his assistant and former Chelsea player, Jody Morris, the chances of Hudson-Odoi staying look more likely than at any point in the previous nine months.

The No 10 shirt, vacated by the departure of Eden Hazard to Real Madrid, will be reserved for him if he commits to Chelsea long-term. Under Lampard, he is expected to play both centrally and as a wide player in the coming season as he is mentored to become the focal attacking point of the team.
